For the 'do' section of my research I decided to head out into the wild to find/observe and photograph Bumble Bees.
I travelled to the outskirts of Leeds and to a village called East Keswick to increase my chances of finding bees, the area of East Keswick is in the middle of farmland and has lots of wild flowers, garden flowers and is known to be a good nature spot.
Luckily I didn't have to travel too far around the village in order to encounter my subjects as there was a great mass of them all buzzing around one or two bushes. This was a perfect place to initially observe them and their behaviour and to practice taking photographs of them.
The quality of the photos is poor as I took all these photos using the camera on my phone as I only wanted to initially discover how easy or difficult it would be finding and documenting the little insects. As it turned out, it proved incredibly difficult to take photos of these bees. The size of these tiny subjects and the speed they move at makes getting a clear, focused shot nearly impossible.
